Research Volunteer – 324 Battery Research Project

Heritage Doncaster is delighted to have received funding from the Army Museums Ogilby Trust and the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Trustees for a new memorial project. We will be repairing and conserving the memorial to the men of the 324 Battery 94th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment Royal Artillery who died during service between June 1944 and June 1945. The 94th Regiment was formed from the 8th Battalion King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry during the Second World War and many of the men remembered on the memorial board were originally KOYLI.

As part of this project, we will be researching the 18 men remembered on the memorial and are looking for a research volunteer to join the project! Research will take place from January – March 2025, and will involve using online resources such as Ancestry and FindMyPast to find out more about the men remembered on the memorial.

If you’re interested in historic research and military history this is the volunteer opportunity for you!
