Doncaster Railway 200 Community Art Project
Calling all artists and train lovers!
Doncaster has been at the heart of railway history for 200 years. From its early days as a key hub on the Great Northern Railway to its world-famous locomotive works, this city has helped shape the future of rail travel. In 2025, we’re celebrating two centuries of ground-breaking engineering, innovation, and community spirit with Railway 200 – a year-long programme of events, exhibitions, and experiences that bring Doncaster’s railway legacy to life.
City of Doncaster council is calling on you to create and donate an original rail-themed image on A4 sized cardstock.
Our aim is to collect 200 local rail-inspired images for 200 years of rail heritage in Doncaster.
200 images will be displayed in celebration of the City of Doncaster’s 200 year Railway Heritage.
Participation is easy. Simply create and donate your artwork at your local Doncaster Library.

Deadline for Submissions: Friday 8th August 2025
Submitted images will be displayed at the Doncaster Railway 200 event- 16th and 17th August.
