Danum Community Garden

The Danum Community Garden is a welcoming green space nestled beside the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum in Doncaster. Created and cared for by local volunteers, the garden offers a peaceful escape from the busy city centre while bringing people together through nature‑based activities. It is managed by the Danum Community Garden Volunteers.

What is growing at Danum Community Garden

The veggie patches are growing a range of vegetables including: carrots, beetroot, peas, onions, runner beans, sweetcorn, pumpkins, peppers, chillies and more.

A range of different kitchen herbs are growing including: Fennel. parsley, oregano, mint, basil, coriander, thyme, and more.

The Roots to Renewal Project installed a colour dye garden full of flowers you can use to make natural dyes including Calendula, woad, corncockle, cosmos, marigolds, rose and so many more.

The tea garden is in development so far we have tea making roses, raspberry leaf, mint, camomile, lavender, lemon verbena and fennel.

The Danum Community Garden is more than a patch of green, it’s a shared space for creativity, wellbeing, and community spirit, right in the centre of Doncaster. 

Roots & Wellbeing Gardening Club

Every Wednesday 1-3pm, a friendly group meets to weed, water, and tend planters filled with herbs and vegetables, helping the garden thrive. No previous gardening experience is needed, just enthusiasm and an interest in connecting with others. Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, make friends, or simply enjoy some fresh air, everyone is invited to take part.
