October Half Term Drop In Activities

Join us for fun, creative activities are available all half term at the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum. Have a go at arts, crafts, and lego in the Children’s Library, handle some museum objects, and find out more about the art on display in the gallery.  All activities are free, drop-in, and take place all day unless specified below.

WEDNESDAY 20 OCTOBER:
Rhyme/Story Time – Children’s Library 10am
Make your own Autumn themed bookmark – Children’s Library

THURSDAY 21 OCTOBER:
Paper plate Autumn wreaths – Children’s Library
Timeline of toys play session – Museum, 1-2pm & 4-5pm

FRIDAY 22 OCTOBER:
Hedgehog art activity – Children’s Library
Egyptian Hieroglyphs activity – Museum 10-10.30am & 2.30-4pm
Art Gallery tour – 1-2pm

SATURDAY 23 OCTOBER:
Make your own Friendship Bracelet – Museum 11.30am – 12.30pm
1960s museum object handling – Museum Living Room

MONDAY 18 OCTOBER:
Make a tissue paper leaf sun catcher – Children’s Library
Handle First World War objects – KOYLI Museum
Make your own Victorian toy – Museum
1960s object Handling – Museum Living Room (11.30am and 2:30pm)

TUESDAY 26 OCT:
Paper Strip Pumpkins craft activity- Children’s Library
Author meet and greet with Linda Jones – Children’s Library 11.30am
Dinosaur crafts – Museum

WEDNESDAY 27 OCT:
Rhyme Time (10am) & pop-up Autumn tree card crafts – Children’s Library

THURSDAY 28 OCT:
Autumn wall hanging crafts – Children’s Library
Roman board game and mosaic activity – Museum
Make a Friendship Bracelet – Museum 12.30pm and 2.30pm

FRIDAY 29 OCT:
Firework chalk/crayon pictures – Children’s Library
Egyptian Hieroglyphs activity- Museum
Museum tour – 10.30am and 2.30pm

SATURDAY 23 OCT
Make your own Friendship Bracelet – Museum 11.30am – 12.30pm
1960s museum object handling – Museum Living Room
Bike and rail track activity – Rail Heritage Centre

Library activities are suitable for ages 4 – 11, though younger children could join in with support.
