Exhibition: The Isle and it’s Railway
The Isle and it’s Railway | May 2026 – 10 October 2026
The Isle of Axholme between Doncaster and Scunthorpe has a fascinating history and landscape. A little-known railway – the Axholme Joint Railway – ran through the Isle, linking East Yorkshire with North Lincolnshire. The railway served the industries and communities of Crowle, Belton, Epworth, Haxey and the surrounding countryside for over 60 years but little remains of it. This exhibition includes objects associated with some of the traditional industries in the Isle and memorabilia from the Axholme Joint Railway.
