Doncaster is a renowned central hub not only for the railway network but also the Victoria Cross which has been awarded to numerous railway employees. This talk by Keith Lumley and Mick Brand of the Victoria Cross Trust will take you through the history of the railways in Doncaster, alongside notable VC recipients and the stories behind their valour. Sir Nigel Gresley, engineer extraordinaire and synonymous with Doncaster railways will also feature including  restoration work undertaken by the VC Trust as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of his birth.
