How to find and enter the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum
Finding Us
The Danum is located on the corner of Waterdale and Chequer Road, 0.5 miles from Doncaster rail and bus stations. Doncaster Council Civic Office is next to the Danum.
Entrances
The main entrance is located at the end of Waterdale and is accessed via a gentle slope or some small steps with handrail. The main entrance has a revolving door and one large door that opens inwards to the building. This door is automated with a press button.

Navigating the building
The building has a lower ground, ground, first and second floor. All of these can be accessed by stairs or a lift.
Lower Ground Floor
Rail Heritage Centre, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Regimental Museum, lunch space, access to garden.
Ground Floor
Lending Library including public computers, and Children’s Library. Toilets, including disabled toilet.
First Floor
Reference Library, Museum, Meeting Rooms, Toilets, including disabled toilet.
Second Floor
Art Gallery, Meeting Rooms, disabled toilet cubicle on conference corridor, please speak to a staff member.

Disabled parking
Chamber Road Car Park
Blue Badge holders must display their blue badge and the vehicle must be in one of the marked blue badge bays. If the vehicle is parked in any other bay they must purchase a pay and display ticket or RingGo session.
There is no time limit for blue badge holders in the allocated blue badge bays.
Chamber Road on street disabled bay
Blue badge holders can park here providing their blue badge is displayed correctly. They are also permitted to park on the other side of Chamber Road in the bays that say “Pay by Phone”. No charge is required in these bays providing they display their valid blue badge.
There is no time limit for blue badge holders in any of these bays.

Blind and partially sighted visitors
Light levels are low in certain galleries. This is to protect and conserve the objects in those areas. Please ask a Visitor Assistant if you would like assistance.
There are tactile, audio, and interactive exhibits and spaces throughout the Museum.
The King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Museum on the lower ground floor has an audio-described tour. The audio clips include descriptions of the objects and information about their history. Track 1 introduces you to the audio guide. Tracks 2 to 13 are object based. Track 14 ends the tour. You can find out more on the KOYLI audio guide page.
There are large print labels available in the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Museum.
Many objects in our collections throughout the building are included on our digital tour through the Bloomberg Connects App.
Assistance and guide dogs
We welcome assistance and guide dogs.
Visitors with physical disabilities and wheelchair users
All floors of the Museum can be accessed via lift. The lift has capacity for multiple wheelchairs and mobility scooters on any one journey.
A wheelchair is available to borrow. Please speak to a member of staff at our welcome desk.
Seating is available around the museum and gallery spaces and throughout the library and cafe.
Visitors with autism and sensory difficulties
Please ask if you need assistance or information during your visit. There are quieter places we can direct you to if you or a member of your family needs it. Noise cancelling headphones are also available in the Children’s Library.
