Make a Yarn Garden with the Mother Hookers
Join the Mother Hookers, a local crochet group, to create a nature themed ‘Yarn Garden’ at Danum Gallery Library Museum.
Katy and Bea who lead The Mother Hooker have recruited 28 makers so far. All abilities are welcome.
Anyone interested in knitting or crochet can get involve. Pick up some free wool from central library to get started.
You can take inspiration from nature to make colourful creations i.e., birds, flowers, leaves, butterflies, bees, snails, ladybirds, bugs, caterpillars, toadstools, frogs, fairy doors, mice, hedgehogs, acorns, etc. These can be knitted, crocheted, or made of fabric.
Drop off your creations at Danum before closing on the 8th March 2025.
Mother Hookers will install the Yarn Garden on Monday 10th March, and Monday 17th March. Just in time to welcome spring.
The wool being supplied has been sourced from ‘Wool and much much more!’ in Doncaster.
This activity is made possible by the Culture Nature project that has been funded by Libraries Connected and Natural England – to help people connect with nature.
This projects is also funding 6 free workshops for adults delivered by Growing Together CIC to help create a new growing area in the Danum Community Garden.
