A talk by Keith Lumley, Chair of Trustees Victoria Cross Trust.

Doncaster holds the unique honour of being a town with the highest number of Victoria Cross recipients, with seven men earning the highest award for valour since its inception in 1856. In this talk Keith Lumley, chair of Trustees at the Victoria Cross Trust will take you through the stories behind the Doncaster seven, their local contribution and their military service before providing an insight into how the charity maintains and restores the memorials associated with these men. The talk will include an opportunity to see artefacts associated with the VC and the conflicts that saw this most prestigious of awards earned.
