Seeds of Change: Swap Grow Thrive
Whether you are new to growing or you’re a gardening pro this event is for you. No matter your age this intergenerational growing event aims to bring together younger and older generations for shared gardening tips and nature-based activities.
This event will mark the start of a new Seed Library, that will be taken care of by the Danum Community Garden Club, allowing people to bring and take seeds. Making growing at home more accessible reducing the cost and commercial element of procuring seeds.
People will be invited to bring in seeds and saplings they don’t need and share their knowledge of growing. The event will explore what is already growing in the Danum Community Garden, helping people to identify plants, herbs, and veggies.
There will be an opportunity to make an upcycled planter that they can make and take away packed with seeds of your choice to grow at home.
Join us at the Danum Gallery Library Museum in the Community Garden on Friday 30th May 2025, 11-3pm.
This a free event that has been funded by Remake Learning Days.
If you would like to attend, you can drop in, or email [email protected] to let us know you are coming.

What a great idea
Will you be doing another swap in the near future ?
Hello Alison
Yes we will be organising another seed swap event. We hope to do 2-3 a year. The seed library is always accessible during open hours in the Rail Heritage section at Danum on floor-1.
Best wishes,
Jo McQuade
Hi,
I am a school gardener who is planning to collect seeds in Doncaster schools this September. Can you tell me when your next seed swapping event is being held so I can come along and also tell the families I garden with.
Katie
Hi Katie, I have passed your question on to the team that runs the event and asked them to drop you an email 🙂
